This bridge is a simply built deck girder bridge, with trestle approach spans.
It sits parallel to the Westbound Bridge, which was built in 1907.
As a result of needing a double track bridge, a bridge which is a mish-mash of spans was built here.
The bridge also contains I-Beam spans as secondary spans.
It is approached by trestle spans on either side. These have likely been updated since the 1940 construction.
The substructures of the bridge are also interesting. Wooden and steel pile piers support the bridge, as well as timber bents on the approach spans.
The author has ranked this bridge as being locally significant, due to the common design. However, the bridge does remain in very good condition.
